4th of July weekend

This weekend was the 4th of July. We had such a fun and busy weekend!

My best friend Melanee and her husband Leo had their first baby on June 30th. They had a beautiful little boy. We got to go visit them in the hospital on Thursday. They named him Leonardo London, and he is absolutely gorgeous! We are SO happy for them!

On Friday we moved my old twin size bed from my mom's house for Aspen to use. She was getting too big for her toddler bed, so we decided it was time to switch her to a really big girl bed. We have always had the dresser that matches the bed in her room, and now we finally have the bed and her room looks so cute! She still looks so tiny in such a big bed, but I think she is much more comfortable in it!

(Above is an older picture of Aspen in her toddler bed)

Saturday was the fourth of July and we went to the Murray parade in the morning. My mom took me and my siblings to that parade almost every year, so it was so fun to go with my kids. We met my mom, and brother there and the kids had so much fun watching the floats and getting candy.

That night we went to my Aunt Teri's house for a BBQ
Aunt Teri recently got engaged :)

Aspen had fun playing with Cameron and Alexis. It's so fun that she is getting old enough to just go off and play.

Aspen was attached to Nana's hip all night, and dragged her around everywhere talking her ear off. Every time Aspen wanted Nana to look at something, she would put her hand on her cheek and make her look.

And last but not least we did fireworks! This was the first year that I dared let Aspen do sparklers! We had alot of fun!

Life

So, I've been thinking lately about how things can change so quickly. I've been thinking about how in just two years my life has changed so dramatically, and how something that I thought was the worst thing that could ever happen, turned out to be the absolute best! I never thought I would feel lucky to have gone through it, but I do. Every bit of pain that I went through then was more than worth it to get where I am now.
I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family that is so supportive and loving. I am so lucky to have Nate, who is so so wonderful with Aspen, and Lucas, and who works so hard so that I can stay home right now to breastfeed our son. It is so nice to be with someone who is responsible, and who works hard for the things he wants. I'm really happy that we've started a famliy together :)

New

Well, I decided to join the crowd and start a blog :)

We recently had a new baby. Lucas Sean was born on April 6, 2009. He weighed 7 lbs 13oz and was 19 inches and is completely perfect. Aspen has been a great big sister, she has her spouts of jealousy, but all in all she can't get enough of him and wants to hug and kiss him constantly. Nate has been an awesome first time dad. Though, I knew he would be because he has been so great with Aspen from the moment he met her. Life has been pretty hectic trying to get use to having two kids, but it is wonderful. I couldn't have picked two better kids :)
